Job summary

BlueCare Yeppoon Capricorn Aged Care Facility is seeking a hands-on Cook to deliver high‑quality, resident‑centred meals. You will prepare, cook and present meals that meet dietary needs and menus, under the direction of the Home Services Lead, supporting a positive dining experience for residents and families.

The role requires a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent), food safety knowledge, IDDSI awareness, and strong teamwork.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent experience)
• Food safety knowledge and safe food handling practices
• Understanding of special diets, allergens and IDDSI requirements
• Ability to work effectively in a team and follow direction
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Commitment to resident-centred care and positive dining experiences
• Basic computer and documentation skills
• Experience in aged care or healthcare food service (highly regarded)
• Confidence to satisfy probity checks required by legislation or policies

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and serve meals in line with corporate menus, recipes and dietary requirements
• Ensure all meals meet IDDSI, allergen, cultural and texture-modified needs
• Deliver meals that are well-presented, appetising and served at the correct temperature
• Support food preparation, portioning, plating and kitchen operations
• Follow safe food handling, hygiene and infection control standards
• Complete documentation including temperature checks, cleaning logs and production records
