Job summary

The University of Queensland invites applications for a Research Fellow - Professional Development Program Lead at the Saint Lucia campus. You will shape the professional development and education program for the Minerals Industry Safety and Health Centre (MISHC), while pursuing an active research agenda and engaging with industry and government partners.

Leading the design, delivery, and evaluation of education initiatives, you will mentor staff and develop strategic partnerships to expand

Qualifications

• Postgraduate qualification or progress towards it with extensive relevant experience.
• Experience in risk management and health and safety for high-risk industries, preferably mining/quarrying.
• Knowledge of contemporary pedagogical approaches, including remote learning for professionals.
• Experience designing and delivering education/training for industry and government professionals.
• Strong written, oral and interpersonal communication across varied cultural settings.
• Ability to think strategically, identify opportunities, and manage multidisciplinary projects.
• Ability to build productive relationships with industry, government and stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel regularly, including international delivery of MISHC courses.

Responsibilities

• Lead the strategic direction, design, delivery and evaluation of professional education and training programs.
• Develop an independent and/or collaborative research program and contribute to funding applications.
• Provide supervision and researcher development through feedback and coaching.
• Build partnerships with industry, government and professional bodies while contributing to internal service and administration.
