Job summary

Prima PMI is seeking a Repair & Maintenance Engineer to join our on-site Engineering team in Melbourne. You will apply your mechanical and electrical maintenance expertise to keep our high‑speed machinery running with minimal downtime.

Responsibilities include performing scheduled maintenance, fault finding, logging tickets, and driving continuous improvement in asset care. You will collaborate with production and fellow engineers, maintain spare parts discipline, and contribute to a culture

Qualifications

• Qualified Engineer (mechanical preferred) with on-site or field service experience.
• Ability to perform both mechanical and electrical maintenance tasks.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and quick debugging on unfamiliar machines.
• Commitment to asset care and value long-term return on parts and investments.
• Willingness to share knowledge with operators to upskill the team.

Responsibilities

The role

Performing scheduled maintenance activities on a wide range of machines

Fault finding and resolving issues both with machines and operator use

Logging and updating machine fault tickets

Logging maintenance activities performed

Providing feedback on operator training required to improve machines use

Proactively looking for ways to improve assets maintenance inside the business

Strictly following spare parts management process in place

A little about you

Qualified Engineer (mechanical preferred) with experience in similar on-site or field service technician roles

A solution driven individual capable to perform various troubleshooting tasks on unique infrastructure.

Capable to deal with both mechanical and electrical maintenance tasks

An ability to debug issues quickly on machines you have not worked on and resolve in-house problems

values the business assets and is passionate about getting a long-term return on them

frugal with assets, parts and expenditure and doesn't like waste

Someone who can share their expertise and knowledge with operators to help develop their skill

A team player who can work with other engineers and production team members to support the business success
