Job summary

Palm Island Aboriginal Shire Council is seeking a motivated Rent to Buy Engagement Officer to support delivery of the Palm Island Rent-to-Buy Home Ownership Program. This entry-level, NIAA-funded role is ideal for a young person who enjoys working with people and wants to make a positive impact in their community.

You’ll help participants understand the program, complete applications, access support services and navigate their pathway toward home ownership.

Palm Island Aboriginal Shire Council is seeking a motivated and community-minded Rent to Buy Engagement Officer to support delivery of the Palm Island Rent-to-Buy Home Ownership Program.

This exciting NIAA-funded, entry-level opportunity is ideal for an eligible young person who enjoys working with people and wants to make a positive impact in their community. You’ll build practical skills and experience while helping participants understand the Rent-to-Buy Home Ownership Program, complete applications, access support services and navigate their pathway towards home ownership.

About the Role

As the Rent to Buy Engagement Officer, you will:

Support community members to understand and access the Rent-to-Buy Program

Assist participants with applications, forms and documentation

Build positive relationships with community members and stakeholders

Help coordinate appointments and follow-up activities

Support community information sessions and engagement activities

Maintain records and assist with reporting and administration tasks

Work closely with Council staff, support services and program partners.
