Job summary

St Vincent's Hospital Sydney is seeking a Clinical Nurse Educator for the Renal Ambulatory Care unit in Darlinghurst. The role is permanent full-time, with weekday hours from 07:00 to 16:00 and occasional afternoon shifts for staff training.

You will lead education for nurses across haemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis and renal services. The successful candidate will drive education planning, collaborate with the Nursing Unit Manager and Medical Stream Manager, and ensure evidence-based practice

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (Division 1) with AHPRA.
• Post-graduate qualification in clinical education or 4 years post-registration including 3 years in the relevant field.
• Certificate IV in workplace training and education or willingness to undertake within the first 12 months of employment.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within the interdisciplinary team and effective communication skills.
• Knowledge of innovative educational strategies including e-learning and commitment to ongoing professional development.

Responsibilities

• Enhance the skills and knowledge of nursing and clinical staff in haemodialysis.
• Assess, develop, implement and evaluate the clinical education needs of staff with Nursing Unit Manager and Medical Stream Manager.
• Ensure all staff have access to educational support and resources to enhance clinical competence.
