Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an accomplished Transportation Manager to lead remote transportation operations, overseeing freight movement and carrier relationships to drive cost savings and reliable deliveries.

The ideal candidate will have 6+ years of experience in transportation management, strong TMS proficiency, and proven leadership in a remote setting. This role offers a fully remote work arrangement with opportunities for strategic impact and professional growth.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
Minimum of 6 years of experience in transportation management, including fleet operations and 3PL.
Proven experience in carrier negotiation, contract management, and freight auditing.
Strong knowledge of TMS and relevant software.
Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills, with ability to work remotely.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute transportation strategies to meet objectives and SLAs.
Negotiate contracts and rates with carriers to cut costs and improve service.
Oversee day-to-day operations: load planning, dispatch, tracking.
Monitor carrier performance, implement scorecards, drive improvements.
Ensure compliance with transportation regulations, safety standards, and policies.
Analyze transportation data to identify trends and cost-saving opportunities.
