Job summary

Kimberley Aboriginal Medical Services Ltd in Broome invites applications for a Speech Pathologist. Two positions are available: 1x Full-time Permanent and 1x 12-month Fixed-Term Contract, delivering early childhood speech and language support to Aboriginal children up to nine years in the Kimberley region.

Qualifications

• Degree in Speech Pathology and eligibility for SPA membership.
• Minimum of two years clinical experience with children’s communication needs.
• Commitment to family-centred practice and transdisciplinary collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Conduct evidence-based assessments and interventions for Aboriginal children with speech and language difficulties.
• Establish speech pathology services aligned with the RECS Program.
• Advocate for and coordinate with community-based services to improve outcomes.
• Develop strategies to improve access to childhood development services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations.
• Support Family Support Workers in RECS program implementation through training and collaboration.
• Document assessments and maintain clinical records for stakeholder communication.
