Job summary

Water Corporation is seeking an experienced Spatial Advisor to support WA's bushfire mitigation program, combining GIS, remote sensing, drone operations and spatial data management to protect assets and communities across Western Australia.

The role delivers specialist spatial analyses, creates dashboards, and collaborates with internal teams and agencies to inform decisions and approvals. Flexibility includes work-from-home options and hybrid arrangements.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience using ESRI products and spatial technologies to deliver practical business outcomes.
• Strong skills in analysing, interpreting and presenting spatial, operational or environmental data.
• Experience with data visualisation tools such as Power BI and the ability to communicate insights effectively.
• Knowledge of drone operations, aerial imagery management or remote sensing technologies will be highly regarded.
• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop innovative solutions and exercise sound technical judgement.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Deliver specialist spatial analysis, mapping and visualisation solutions that support bushfire mitigation planning, operational activities and strategic decision-making.
• Lead the coordination of the Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA) program, overseeing aerial imagery collection and the management of spatial data assets.
• Use GIS, remote sensing and geospatial technologies to assess bushfire risk, monitor program outcomes and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Develop insightful reporting, dashboards and visualisations that transform complex data into meaningful information for stakeholders.
• Work closely with internal teams, government agencies and external partners to support environmental approvals, fire management initiatives and cross-functional projects.
• Drive innovation and strengthen geospatial capability across the Fire Management Program through technical expertise, best-practice solutions and continuous improvement.
