Job summary

Xero is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to elevate reliability across its global platform. You will partner with product teams, build automated tooling, and run chaos experiments to surface systemic resilience gaps while orchestrating incident management and post-incident learning.

The role focuses on Kubernetes, AWS, Golang, Python, and C# to implement reliability-by-default patterns, scale incident response, and protect critical services for millions of small businesses.

Qualifications

• Solid background in site reliability engineering or DevOps.
• Experience diagnosing and strengthening distributed systems.
• Practical coding in Golang, Python, or C#.
• Familiarity with incident management and post-incident reviews.

Responsibilities

• Shift reliability into a front-row discipline across the global platform.
• Build automated tooling and chaos experiments to identify failures before impact.
• Develop and tune chaos engineering scenarios, load-shedding, and rate limiting.
• Coordinate incident management rituals and post-incident analyses.
• Collaborate with product and infrastructure squads to design reliability by default.
