Job summary

Precruitment is seeking an experienced Senior HR Advisor for a six-month fixed-term contract in Queensland. Remote work is possible, with onsite participation in Central West Queensland preferred; accommodation can be arranged.

You will advise leaders and employees on employee relations, awards, legislation and employment conditions, support recruitment and workforce planning, and help strengthen HR practices while maintaining confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Senior HR advisor with experience in a generalist role.
• Sound knowledge of Australian employment legislation, awards.
• Strong employee relations and case management skills.
• Ability to communicate complex employment matters clearly.
• Willingness to work remotely with occasional on-site attendance.
• Availability to commence promptly for six-month term.
• Local Government or public sector experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical advice on employee relations, performance and workplace matters.
• Support managers to interpret awards, legislation, policies and employment conditions.
• Manage workplace issues with professionalism, fairness and confidentiality.
• Assist with recruitment, onboarding and workforce planning activities.
• Review and improve HR policies, procedures, templates and supporting resources.
• Guide leaders through performance development and employee support processes.
• Maintain accurate case records, correspondence and HR documentation.
• Identify people-related risks and recommend practical solutions.
• Contribute to priority HR projects throughout the contract period.
