Mercor is seeking a Reinsurance & Program Business Specialist on a remote, hourly contract basis. The role requires 2+ years in reinsurance or related areas, with knowledge of treaty/facultative structures, MGAs, captives, and fronting. You will design scenarios, prepare contract analyses, and evaluate AI-generated responses for accuracy and market realism.

Immediate start with 20-40 hours per week, paid weekly via Stripe Connect. Prior CPCU or similar designations are preferred.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional experience in reinsurance, program business, delegated authority, fronting, captive insurance, or alternative risk transfer.
• Understanding of treaty reinsurance, facultative reinsurance, MGA/MGU programs, Lloyd's arrangements, captives, or fronted programs.
• Identifies economic and operational responsibilities of cedents, reinsurers, brokers, MGAs, fronting carriers, and insureds.
• Understands how contract structure changes risk transfer, earnings, collateral, claims handling, and reporting.
• Demonstrates written reasoning, commercial judgment, and high attention to detail.
• Can distinguish reinsurance decisions from direct underwriting and ordinary claim adjudication.

• Design scenarios involving treaty and facultative reinsurance, attachment, exhaustion, and program governance.
• Create analyses and summaries like structure comparisons, submissions, and risk-transfer recommendations.
• Write polished responses at expert level for reinsurance and program-business quality.
• Grade AI outputs against rubrics for structural accuracy and market realism.
• Identify misunderstandings of layers, retentions, commissions, collateral, and carrier-MGA roles.
• Provide actionable feedback to the research team to improve model behavior.
