Job summary

Queensland Building & Construction Commission – Toowoomba QLD is seeking a compliant investigator to manage a varied caseload of regulatory investigations, using desktop and field-based methods. You will assess evidence, conduct site audits, prepare reports, and recommend appropriate regulatory actions in line with legislation.

Engagement with consumers, licensees and stakeholders is essential, along with providing clear regulatory advice and professional customer service.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Government Investigations or higher is required.
• Two years' experience in complex investigations.
• Experience managing end-to-end case management workflows.
• Strong skills in evidence analysis and report-writing.
• Ability to manage competing priorities while delivering timely, high-quality outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Investigate alleged legislative breaches via desktop and field activities.
• Assess evidence, conduct site audits, prepare reports and evidentiary material.
• Recommend regulatory actions aligned with legislation and policies.
• Engage with consumers, licensees, and stakeholders providing regulatory advice.
• Support regional service centre operations including front counter and stakeholder engagement.
