Job summary

Cox Purtell Staffing Services in Sydney, Australia, is seeking a hands-on Project Accountant to own the full financial lifecycle of projects—from revenue recognition and billing to job costing and final reconciliations. You’ll report to the APAC Controller and collaborate with Producers and Account Leads across Sydney and Singapore.

Qualifications

• Accounting degree or equivalent qualification.
• 3–5 years of accounting experience, ideally with agency or project accounting.
• Strong Excel skills and proficiency with accounting software; Procim experience is highly regarded.
• Solid understanding of GST compliance requirements across Australia and Singapore.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, with producers, account managers and external vendors.
• Self-motivated, proactive problem solver capable of prioritising multiple projects and dynamic teams.

Responsibilities

• Own project job costing, setting up vendors and maintaining accurate project costs across operating and finance systems.
• Review and match purchase orders and vendor invoices against project budgets and deliverables, monitoring PO closures ahead of final reconciliation.
• Manage vendor and freelancer onboarding and compliance across the APAC region, including Certificates of Insurance, Master Service Agreements, rate cards and Scopes of Work.
• Oversee the APAC accounts payable and receivable function, including invoice processing, aging management, weekly payment runs and supplier reconciliations.
• Support month-end close by performing bank reconciliations, processing general journals and assisting with GL reconciliations.
