Job summary

Moritz is seeking a privacy lawyer to lead drafting and negotiation of DPAs, SCCs, and joint controller terms for global clients. You will advise on privacy implications of deploying AI systems, data training, and automated decision-making, aligning with GDPR/UK GDPR and CCPA frameworks.

You will support incident response activities, including breach assessment, regulatory notifications, and remediation, while managing engagements with SLA requirements.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of privacy or data protection law experience in private practice or in-house.
• Strong knowledge of GDPR, UK GDPR, and CCPA; familiarity with HIPAA or sector-specific regimes is a plus.
• Active Australian law license in good standing; PI insurance maintained or willing to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Lead drafting, review, and negotiation of DPAs, SCCs, joint controller arrangements, and privacy terms.
• Advise clients on privacy implications of AI systems, data training, automated decision-making, and EU AI Act alignment.
• Support incident response including breach assessment, notifications, regulator engagement, and remediation.
• Manage engagements with SLA considerations and client expectations.
