Job summary

Aspen Medical is partnering with Healthdirect Australia to provide 1800MEDICARE virtual primary care across Australia. We seek Specialist GPs for overnight shifts (11pm–6am) working remotely from anywhere in Australia, with full tech and operational support.

Earn competitive hourly rates ($175–$200) with a higher rate on public holidays ($245). Training is provided, plus a pathway for telehealth-experienced clinicians, ongoing 24/7 support, and a laptop supplied.

Qualifications

• Current unrestricted AHPRA registration as a Specialist General Practitioner.
• Minimum of one year full-time equivalent experience as a Specialist GP in Australia.
• Excellent communication and English proficiency.
• Strong clinical judgement and confidence in episodic care in a virtual environment.
• Strong digital literacy; comfortable with new clinical systems.
• Reliable internet with min 50 Mbps download and 20 Mbps upload.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, patient-centred episodic care through video and telephone consultations.
• Provide timely, evidence-based medical advice and treatment recommendations.
• Assess patients and determine appropriate pathways for ongoing or urgent care.
• Create concise, actionable care summaries and facilitate referrals to local services.
• Utilise digital health tools including My Health Record, e-prescribing and secure messaging.
• Support continuity of care with patients' regular GPs where appropriate.
