Job summary

Compass Group Pty Limited seeks a highly experienced Catering Manager to lead operations at a remote mining accommodation village in Northwest Queensland, 150km south of Mount Isa, home to about 800 residents. Roster is 9 days on, 5 off with 12-hour days; flights from Townsville, plus accommodation and meals are provided.

You will drive catering performance, ensure compliance, mentor Head Chefs, develop talent, and deliver high-quality services with a focus on safety and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Experience in site-based catering management in high-volume environments.
• Strong people management and leadership skills.
• Minimum Cert 3 in Commercial Cookery.
• Food safety supervisor certification.
• Ability to engage with internal and external stakeholders.
• Passion for customer service and safety.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring compliance with all catering requirements
• Driving regular and sustainable improvement in catering performance
• Conducting regular interactions with all levels throughout villages
• On the ground support to Head Chefs across portfolios
• Training and development of identified talent within the organisation
• Deliver high quality catering and support services to clients
• Foster a high-performance culture through continuous improvement and innovation
• Staff engagement and development, modelling positive working relationships
