Job summary

ESS is seeking a highly experienced Catering Manager to lead operations across remote mining accommodation villages in Northwest Queensland, 150km south of Mount Isa. Roster 9 days on, 5 days off; 12-hour days with flights ex Townsville, accommodation and meals included.

You will drive catering performance, ensure compliance, support Head Chefs, and develop talent while delivering high-quality services in a remote, high-volume environment.

Qualifications

• Site-based catering management experience in high-volume environments.
• Strong people management and stakeholder engagement.
• Minimum Certificate III in Commercial Cookery.
• Food safety supervisor certification.
• Commitment to safety and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with all catering requirements.
• Drive regular and sustainable improvement in catering performance.
• Interact with all levels throughout villages and sites.
• Provide on‑the‑ground support to Head Chefs across portfolios.
• Train and develop identified talent within the organisation.
• Deliver high‑quality catering and support services to clients.
• Foster a high‑performance culture through continuous improvement and innovation.
• Engage staff and model positive working relationships, trust, care and respect.
