Miwatj Health Aboriginal Corporation invites a Lead GP to join the Galiwin’ku Health Service, overseeing a dedicated GP and multidisciplinary team in a very remote setting. You will shape primary care delivery, provide urgent and emergency care planning, and lead initiatives to improve Aboriginal health outcomes across East Arnhem while engaging with the local Yolnu community.

Current registration with AHPRA and fellowship with RACGP/ACRRM are required, with a track record in remote or rural

Qualifikationen

• Current registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA) and Fellow of the RACGP, ACRRM or equivalent.
• Extensive experience in General Practice, Rural Generalism, Emergency Medicine.
• Proven leadership and communication skills relevant to GP and multidisciplinary teams.
• A commitment to improving Aboriginal health through primary health care.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and health needs.

Aufgaben

• Lead the GP team in providing medical services at the Galiwin’ku Health Service.
• Plan services incorporating multidisciplinary team based primary care, urgent care and emergency care in a very remote setting.
• Timely intervention in acute medical problems.
• Identification and management of chronic conditions with a multidisciplinary approach.
• Provide health education to Aboriginal Health Practitioners and other clinic/community members.
• Participation in health promotion activities, health research and development.
• Improve the standard of primary health care in East Arnhem.
• Advocacy on Public Health issues.
• Promotion of a Quality Improvement approach to health systems issues and problem solving.
