Job summary

Miwatj Health Aboriginal Corporation is seeking a vocationally registered General Practitioner to join the Milingimbi team. This remote role offers a variety of work arrangements including full-time, part-time, FIFO, and fixed-term placements, with relocation support provided to ease your transition.

You will participate in daily clinical duties, manage referrals, and follow up on chronic conditions using Communicare, while practicing under CARPA guidelines and Miwatj protocols.

Qualifications

• Current registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA) and Fellow of the RACGP, ACRRM or equivalent.
• Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, values and beliefs.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate sensitively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people from different cultural backgrounds.
• Demonstrated knowledge of issues affecting the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in contemporary society.
• Current Working with Children Clearance and a criminal history check.

Responsibilities

• Active participation in daily clinical and health promotion routines.
• Accept referrals of patients from other health team members.
• Review and follow-up of patients with ongoing conditions.
• Use Communicare to identify care needs, initiate recalls and care plans, and document consultations.
