About the Business

We are an established joinery manufacturer based in North Geelong, servicing high-end residential, commercial, and architectural projects across Geelong, the Surf Coast, and the Bellarine Peninsula for over 15 years.

Due to a strong project pipeline, we are looking for an experienced Estimator on an ongoing contract basis to manage upcoming tenders, quotes, and project variations. For the right candidate, this role offers strong potential to transition into a permanent position.

The Role

Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will be responsible for accurate, real-world pricing on custom joinery projects. This role offers genuine flexibility—you can work remotely, dropping into our North Geelong office or visiting site only when required.

What you’ll be doing:

• Reviewing architectural drawings and specifications to build detailed costings, take-offs, and BOQs.

• Gathering pricing and lead times from suppliers and sub-contractors, comparing options to keep quotes competitive.

• Identifying scope gaps, pricing risks, and exclusions before tenders go out.

• Pricing client variations and scope changes on active projects.

• Putting together clean handover files for our design and production teams when jobs are won.

• Keeping pricing databases, Excel templates, and estimating tools up to date.

What You Need

• Industry Experience: A proven track record in construction estimating. Experience in custom joinery, cabinetry, or commercial fit-outs is highly regarded.

• Technical Capability: Strong ability to read and interpret architectural plans and project specifications.

• Software: Proficient with Excel and industry estimating software (e.g., Cubit, Bluebeam, Databuild, SiteBook, or similar).

• Qualifications: Degree in Construction Management / Quantity Surveying, or equivalent practical trade and estimating experience.

• Independence: Comfortable managing your own workload remotely and delivering accurate pricing to deadline.

• Licence: Current driver's licence and reliable vehicle for occasional site visits.
