Job summary

Inspiring Lives Today (Effective HR) is seeking an experienced HR & IR Consultant to advise a diverse client base remotely across Australia. The role focuses on award interpretation, IR matters, and compliance, with 25–30 hours per week and flexible, fully remote work.

You’ll draft contracts, support performance management, and guide clients through redundancies and consultations, while staying current with Fair Work Act requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years’ HR experience, ideally in consultancy or across multiple industries.
• Demonstrated confidence in IR matters, particularly Award interpretation, misconduct, and compliance.
• Strong SCHADS Award experience (essential).
• Solid understanding of the Fair Work Act and National Employment Standards.
• Excellent communication skills and confidence advising clients on complex matters.
• Strong attention to detail and a practical, solutions-focused mindset.

Responsibilities

• Providing expert advice on Award coverage, classification, and interpretation across multiple industries
• Advising on performance management, absenteeism, misconduct, and termination processes
• Supporting clients with employee disputes, redundancies, and consultation obligations
• Drafting and tailoring employment contracts to suit industry, role, and compliance requirements
• Acting as an embedded HR Manager for key clients, managing day-to-day HR queries and processes
• Reviewing and developing HR policies and procedures aligned with legislation and best practice
• Conducting end-to-end recruitment where required

Effective HR is a growing HR and Industrial Relations consultancy delivering practical, compliant, and commercially sound advice to businesses across Australia. We pride ourselves on providing tailored, high-quality solutions that genuinely work for our clients, rather than generic HR templates.

Our work spans Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Payroll, Recruitment, HR and Payroll system implementations, Workplace Health and Safety, and Workers’ Compensation. As we continue to grow, we’re looking for an experienced HR & IR Consultant to join our team.

This is a varied, client-facing role, however strong Industrial Relations capability is essential, with exposure across multiple industries.

What You’ll Do

• Working remotely with a diverse client base, you’ll provide practical, confident HR and IR advice across a broad range of matters, including:

• (experience in SCHADS is essential; Building & Construction and GRIA experience is advantageous)
