Job summary

Ucentric is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to own and evolve a production-grade communications SaaS platform. The role requires deep ownership, architectural judgement and hands-on work across a multi-channel system with programmable telephony.

You will work in a Melbourne-preferred setup with Australia-wide consideration, collaborating with senior leaders and distributed teams to ship reliable, scalable customer solutions. AI-driven tooling features prominently in daily workflows.

Qualifications

• Proven track record delivering production-grade software in complex systems.
• Experience with AI-assisted development and coding agents in daily workflows.
• Hands-on experience with programmable telephony platforms (Twilio, Telnyx or equivalent).
• Strong API design and third‑party integrations for customer-facing services.
• Ability to own and operate large-scale systems with clear architectural judgments.

Responsibilities

• Own the design, development and evolution of customer-facing production systems.
• Build and improve programmable telephony and messaging workflows.
• Maintain context across channels and ensure reliable customer experience.
• Design and integrate APIs and third-party services.
• Improve reliability, deployment safety and observability across the platform.
• Lead effectively with distributed and offshore engineering teams.
• Apply AI-assisted development tools while ensuring quality and production readiness.
