Job summary

Huon Aquaculture in Hobart is seeking a dedicated Control Room Operator to join our on-site team on a permanent full-time basis. You will operate cutting-edge AI feeding technology and monitor daily fish feeds to ensure healthy stocks and sustainable operations.

The role follows a 5 days on / 2 days off roster, with early starts from 4:45 am or late finishes up to 9:30 pm. You will report any anomalies and contribute to continuous improvement across teams.

Responsibilities

• Review feed rates, mortalities, and fish weights to identify trends.
• Coordinate with marine teams to ensure smooth operations.

We're looking for an additional Control Room Operator to join our dedicated Hobart-based team on a permanent full-time basis. Working a 5 day on/2 day off roster (Tuesday to Saturday), you'll operate cutting-edge AI feeding technology that keeps our salmon healthy and our oceans thriving. Our fish are fed based on daylight hours, so start times aren't always the same and will change throughout the year. In summer, when the days are longer, we operate split shifts, with employees working either a morning or afternoon shift.

What you'll do

• Monitor and control daily feeds for our fish pens using advanced Pellet Recognition Software.
• Identify and report unusual fish behaviour, environmental changes, or equipment issues.
• Review data such as feed rates, mortalities, and fish weights to identify performance trends.
• Communicate with marine teams to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
