Job summary

Huon Aquaculture in Devonport is seeking a Dispatch Operator to join our hands-on dispatch team. You will coordinate deliveries, prepare orders and work with transport providers to ensure products leave site accurately, safely and on time.

This casual role places you at the heart of our operations, with duties spanning order checking, inventory traceability and forklift-enabled tasks in a cold environment. Join a team focused on safety, quality and timely service.

Qualifications

• Experience in dispatch/warehousing/logistics or transport coordination.
• Strong computer skills with warehouse/production systems.
• Excellent organisation and time management.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Good communication and team-focused approach.
• Commitment to workplace health and safety.
• Forklift Licence (LF) and transport scheduling knowledge would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily dispatch and transport activities.
• Prepare delivery dockets and transport documentation.
• Schedule and monitor outbound deliveries.
• Liaise with drivers, transport providers and internal teams.
• Check customer orders and dispatch correct products and quantities.
• Scan finished goods and orders to maintain inventory and traceability.
• Palletise, label, wrap and prepare products for dispatch.
• Maintain accurate dispatch records and inventory.
• Assist with stock control and cycle counts.
• Investigate and resolve dispatch or delivery discrepancies.
• Follow all safety, quality and company procedures.

We’re looking for a reliable and organised Dispatch Operator to join the team at Huon Aquaculture.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll be right at the centre of our dispatch operation - coordinating deliveries, preparing orders, working with transport providers and making sure our products leave site accurately, safely and on time.

The role

No two days will be exactly the same. You’ll work closely with our warehouse, production and transport teams to keep our dispatch operation running smoothly.

You’ll be responsible for:

• Coordinating daily dispatch and transport activities.
• Preparing delivery dockets and transport documentation.
• Scheduling and monitoring outbound deliveries.
• Liaising with drivers, transport providers and internal teams.
• Checking customer orders and ensuring the right products and quantities are dispatched.
• Scanning finished goods and customer orders to maintain accurate inventory and traceability.
• Palletising, labelling, wrapping and preparing products for dispatch.
• Maintaining accurate inventory and dispatch records.
• Assisting with stock control and cycle counts.
• Investigating and resolving dispatch or delivery discrepancies.
• Following all safety, quality and company procedures.

About you

You’ll be someone who enjoys a busy environment, has great attention to detail and takes pride in getting things right.

Ideally, you’ll bring:

• Previous experience in dispatch, warehousing, logistics or transport coordination.
• Strong computer skills and confidence working with warehouse or production systems.
• Excellent organisation and time management skills.
• The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Good communication skills and a team-focused approach.
• A strong commitment to workplace health and safety.

A Forklift Licence (LF), manufacturing experience and knowledge of transport scheduling or freight management would be an advantage.
