Job summary

The Borneo Project in Australia is seeking a Communications Coordinator for 16-20 hours per week, remotely based in Australia (ideally Melbourne). The role offers hands-on experience across the full range of a small NGO's communications work, including social media, newsletters, website content, content management and donor records.

We welcome applicants with strong writing and editing skills, English plus Bahasa Melayu or Bahasa Indonesia, and a passion for environmental and social justice.

Qualifications

• Strong writing and editing skills with attention to tone and detail.
• English proficiency plus Bahasa Melayu or Bahasa Indonesia.
• Confidence with social media platforms and scheduling tools.
• Ability to work independently from a home workspace with reliable internet.
• Genuine interest in environmental and social justice.

Responsibilities

• Draft, edit and schedule social media across channels.
• Draft, edit and schedule monthly newsletters.
• Publish and maintain content on the website.
• Maintain and organise the content repository.
• Monitor press coverage of our work in Sarawak.
• Support fundraising, including processing donations and donor records.
• Help shape how campaigns look and sound online.
