Job summary

Lifted, an Upwork Company™, is seeking CFD and Aerodynamic Engineers to design CFD tasks for evaluating AI models. You will create precise problem statements, cover boundary conditions, mesh quality, flow regimes, and simulation setups, and develop scoring checkers with verified reference solutions.

You’ll apply OpenFOAM experience to craft realistic engineering scenarios and work remotely with flexible scheduling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Hands-on experience using OpenFOAM for CFD simulations.
• Strong foundation in fluid mechanics, aerodynamics, and heat transfer.
• Experience with mesh generation, turbulence modeling, boundary conditions, post-processing.
• Ability to write clear, precise, and verifiable engineering problems.
• Excellent written English communication; ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Design CFD and aerodynamics tasks to evaluate AI models' engineering reasoning.
• Create clear problem statements covering boundary conditions, mesh quality, flow regimes, and setup.
• Develop deterministic scoring checkers that objectively evaluate AI-generated responses.
• Produce verified reference solutions to ensure tasks are accurate and solvable.
• Review and refine tasks to improve clarity, accuracy and difficulty.
• Apply real-world OpenFOAM experience to develop practical scenarios.
• Work independently in a fully remote, asynchronous environment with scheduling flexibility.
