Job summary

Northern Territory Government’s East Arnhem Alcohol and Other Drugs Unit seeks an experienced Alcohol and Other Drugs Coordinator to lead AOD services across Groote Eylandt Archipelago. You will work with SEWB and health professionals to deliver culturally safe AOD care in a remote setting.

Join a multidisciplinary team, lead a small local crew, and drive health promotion and prevention initiatives across communities like Angurugu, Alyangula, Umbakumba and Milyakburra.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in Alcohol and Other Drugs sector including assessment, case management and harm minimisation.
• Experience leading and supporting a team, ideally in remote or culturally diverse settings.
• Experience working across multidisciplinary teams and with community stakeholders.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Confidence facilitating groups, meetings and education sessions.
• Willingness to travel to remote communities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate culturally safe Alcohol and Other Drugs support services.
• Support harm minimisation and coordinated care pathways.
• Collaborate with the SEWB team and other health professionals.
• Strengthen partnerships with community stakeholders and service providers.
• Lead and coordinate a small team in a remote setting.
• Lead and support health promotion, prevention and community education initiatives.
