SVR Construction Recruitment Mount Gravatt QLD is seeking trades professionals to move into a diagnostic role, turning field knowledge into actionable repair insights for residential, strata, commercial and industrial properties.

You will identify water ingress and other defects, determine root causes, and produce detailed, on-site reports. Strong communication with managers and stakeholders is essential, with on-site tablet usage and reporting experience valued.

Qualifications

• Trade background in waterproofing, roofing, concrete repair, carpentry, building or related trade.
• Ability to write clear professional reports and use a tablet or laptop on site.
• Excellent communication with clients and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Conduct specialist inspections to identify water ingress, leaks, waterproofing failures and defects.
• Diagnose root causes and recommend practical repair methods.
• Prioritise defects (P1–P4) as part of building condition audits.
• Produce detailed inspection reports with photos and findings.
• Collaborate with estimators to provide scope for remedial works.
• Liaise with strata managers, engineers and owners.
• Attend urgent and post-storm inspections as required.

Are you a tradesman with a background in either carpentry, roofing, waterproofing, concreting or related trade with a sharp eye for building defects who’s ready to swap the tools for a role on the diagnostic side of construction?

We’re recruiting on behalf of an established, licensed remedial building and waterproofing contractor who services residential, strata, commercial and industrial properties.

This is a chance to put your trade knowledge to work in a specialist role, where your findings directly shape the repair solutions and projects delivered by the business.

The Role

• Conducting specialist inspections to identify water ingress, leaks, waterproofing failures, concrete cracking and deterioration, roofing and façade defects
• Diagnosing root causes and recommending practical repair methods that reflect real site conditions
• Categorising defects by priority (P1–P4) as part of building condition audits
• Producing detailed inspection reports with photos, evidence and findings
• Working closely with estimators to provide scope and input for quoting remedial works
• Liaising with strata and body corporate managers, property managers, engineers and building owners
• Attending urgent and post-storm inspections as required

About You

• A trade background in waterproofing, roofing, concrete repair, carpentry, building or a related trade
• Hands‑on experience with residential and/or commercial buildings
• Confidence writing clear, professional reports and using a tablet or laptop on site
• Excellent communication skills when dealing with clients and stakeholders
