Job summary

Building Talent Recruitment Pty is seeking a Remedial Design Engineer in Sydney to lead site investigations, prepare comprehensive reports, and manage remedial projects with limited supervision.

You will work within a multi-disciplinary team, liaise with clients and contractors, and contribute to high-quality design documentation aligned with Australian standards.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree required (Civil or Structural).
• Minimum 5 years post-graduate remedial engineering consultancy experience.
• Experience in preparing remedial building reports, technical specifications, and tender documentation.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Familiarity with the Strata and residential industry or working on construction projects.
• Full working rights in Australia.

Responsibilities

• Site investigations and diagnosis of building defects.
• Prepare technical site reports, building condition reports & building defects reports.
• Prepare scope of works, design drawings, tender and contract documentation.
• Manage projects on-site and inspect construction works.
• Deliver projects to a high standard of quality and expertise.
• Liaise with Clients and Contractors to build relationships and business growth initiatives.
• Prepare fee proposals and meeting minute documents.
• Produce, review, and check designs and specifications per Australian Standards and National Construction Codes.
• Collaborate within a multi-disciplinary environment.
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders as necessary.

The Responsibilities

As the Remedial Design Engineer, you will be responsible for:

• Site Investigations and diagnosis of building defects,
• Preparing technical site reports, building condition reports and building defects reports,
• Preparing scope of works documents, design drawings, tender and contract documentation,
• Managing projects on-site and inspect construction works,
• Delivering projects to a high standard of quality and expertise,
• Liaising with Clients and Contractors to build relationships and business growth initiatives,
• Preparing fee proposals and meeting minute documents,
• Producing, reviewing, and checking designs and specifications in accordance with the relevant Australian Standards and National Construction Codes under limited supervision,
• Working collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary environment, and,
• Liaising with key internal and external stakeholders as necessary.

The Requirements

• An Engineering degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years post-graduate remedial engineering consultancy experience
