This may include responsibilities in emergency care and patient stabilisation (including coordination of medical evacuations), child and family health, chronic disease management, preventive health screening and community health programmes, and palliative care services as required.

  • Ensure compliance with all organisational policies, procedures, and clinical governance requirements.

  • Ensure all practices comply with the Work Health and Safety Act 2020 and promote a safe working environment.

  • Utilise the SHS Clinical Information System (Communicare) for the recording of all client health information, including recalls, referrals and communication.

  • Source and/or develop appropriate, culturally safe and innovative health education/promotion resources to improve health literacy.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Current AHPRA registration and annual practicing certificate as a Registered Nurse.

  • A minimum of three years full‑time broad‑based nursing experience, including A&E experience.

  • Previous remote / Aboriginal nursing experience.

  • Completion / currency (as required) of REC, BLS/ALS, MEC pharmacotherapy courses.

  • Demonstrated understanding of issues affecting Aboriginal health, the principles of Primary Health Care and relevant legislation governing work practice.

  • Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, evidence-based practice, research, education, and professional development.
