Job summary

Catholic Education Office Diocese of Wollongong – Bellambi NSW seeks two Religious Education/English Teachers for a temporary full-time role running 28 January 2027 to 26 January 2028. You will teach Religious Education and English to support students’ faith development and learning outcomes.

The successful candidate will be accredited (Level D for RE) and registered with NESA, join a Catholic school community, and engage with staff, parents and carers while upholding child safety standards.

Qualifications

• Qualified to teach the nominated Key Learning Areas.
• Accredited Level D to teach Religious Education or willing to gain within the first 5 years of employment with CEDoW.
• Accredited to teach with NESA.

A temporary full time position commencing 28 January 2027 until 26 January 2028. The successful applicant will be required to teach Religious Education/English.

The role of Classroom Teacher exists to support growth in faith and improvement in learning for students to reach their full potential.

ESSENTIAL SELECTION CRITERIA

• Demonstrate a deep understanding and commitment to the mission and purpose of the Catholic School within the broader Catholic Church.
• Create and maintain an orderly, safe and supportive learning environment based on the principles of PB4L.
• Apply knowledge of the diverse needs of students to support their full participation in learning.
• Ability to plan for and implement effective teaching and learning in Religious Education/English.
• Use a range of assessment strategies and analyse data to inform student learning.
• Demonstrate commitment to engage professionally with colleagues, parents /carers and the wider school community.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Appropriate qualifications for teaching nominated Key Learning Area (s).
• Accredited Level D to teach Religious Education in accordance with To Work, Teach and Lead policy or a commitment to gain this level within the first 5 years of employment with CEDoW.
• The applicant must be accredited to teach with NESA.

WORKING WITH CHILDREN CLEARANCE

This role is classified as child related work and therefore a Working With Children Check (WWCC) is required prior to your employment with CEDoW.
