Job summary

Bega Group in Morwell, Victoria, is seeking a Reliability Engineer to lead the site's Asset Care Plan, improve equipment reliability and asset performance, and work with maintenance and operations teams to reduce downtime.

Reporting to the Engineering and Reliability Manager, you will drive continuous improvement initiatives, manage contractors, and ensure safe, high‑standard work across a large, automated yoghurt facility.

Qualifications

• Qualification in Engineering and experience in manufacturing, maintenance or reliability environments.
• Experience leading people and building relationships with teams, contractors and stakeholders.
• Experience delivering projects and driving continuous improvement outcomes.
• Organised, commercially minded and able to manage competing priorities.
• Proactive problem-solver with strong communication and collaborative approach.
• CAD/MEX experience is highly regarded.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the site maintenance team to keep operations running smoothly and efficiently.

• Identify recurring equipment issues and implement long-term solutions to reduce downtime.
• Manage contractors and site services, ensuring work is completed safely and to a high standard.
• Collaborate with production and operations teams to support continuous improvement initiatives across the site.
• Maintain and improve asset information in MEX.
• Develop energy isolation plans and own Permit to Work processes.
• Manage technical library and engineering drawings.

The Role

Our Morwell site is located about 150km east of Melbourne, manufacturing a large range of products in yoghurt and dairy desserts including brands such as Farmers Union, Dairy Farmers and Yoplait. Operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week across 9 lines the site is highly automated and is the largest yoghurt facility in Australia.

We're looking for a Reliability Engineer to join our Morwell site and play a key role in improving equipment reliability, asset performance and operational efficiency. Reporting to the Engineering and Reliability Manager, you'll lead the delivery of the site's Asset Care Plan, drive continuous improvement initiatives and work closely with maintenance and operations teams to reduce downtime and support site performance.

This role works Monday to Friday across normal site operating hours.

Responsibilities

• Support the site maintenance team to keep operations running smoothly and efficiently.

About you

• Qualification in Engineering and have experience in a manufacturing, maintenance or reliability environment
