Job summary

Emeco in Gunnedah is seeking a hands-on Reliability Engineer to join our permanent full-time team at the Gunnedah Office, working closely with site operations and maintenance teams to elevate asset performance and reduce downtime.

You will develop practical reliability programs, analyze data to drive maintenance planning and execution, and collaborate across teams to embed a robust reliability culture on major mining equipment such as CAT, Hitachi and Liebherr.

Qualifications

• Tertiary Qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
• Previous experience in reliability, maintenance, or asset management within mining/heavy equipment.
• Experience with Mobile Mining fleet including CAT, Hitachi, and Liebherr preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement reliability programs to improve asset performance and reduce downtime.
• Travel to site and engage with maintenance/operations teams to identify reliability issues in real-time.
• Analyze data to drive improvements in maintenance planning, execution, and asset management.

• Analyse data to drive improvements in maintenance planning, execution, and asset management.
• Collaborate across teams to establish and embed a robust reliability culture from the ground up.
• Monitor equipment performance, root cause analysis, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

What We're Looking For:

• Tertiary Qualification in Mechanical Engineering
• Previous experience in a reliability, maintenance, or asset management role within the mining or heavy equipment sector.
• Experience with Mobile Mining fleet equipment including CAT, Hitachi, and Liebherr preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
• A practical, hands-on approach to problem-solving.
• Ability to analyse data, identify trends, and make informed recommendations for improvement.
• A passion for safety, quality, and operational excellence.
