About the Role:

As a Reliability Engineer, you will help achieve company production targets by collaborating with the Electrical, Maintenance, and Planning Superintendents. Your role involves developing and maintaining preventive maintenance programs to ensure the reliability of both fixed and mobile equipment while providing engineering expertise for all maintenance activities.

Predominantly Adelaide based with travel as reasonably required to the mine site.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Manager – Asset Reliability & Maintenance to develop and implement maintenance strategies for assets (plant and equipment).
  • Work with key personnel within the department to identify opportunities for improvement in reliability practices and asset performance.
  • Undertake investigations into downtime events and the diagnosis of root causes, aiming to provide permanent rectification of faults in plant and equipment.
  • Contribute to risk assessments for new and existing assets, ensuring operational safety and compliance.
  • Provide input on capital investment proposals to address reliability concerns. Assist with preparing cost estimates and budgets.
  • Monitor and recommend improvements to data integrity and accuracy.
  • Monitor equipment performance, identify failure patterns and develop predictive maintenance solutions.
  • Collaborate with various teams, predominantly Planning & Technical, to identify and implement engineering solutions that address issues adversely impacting site operations.
  • Coordinate plant / equipment improvement trials, including technical input, tracking and reporting to ensure alignment with Management of Change procedure.
  • Lead and implement projects to improve equipment reliability, as agreed with Manager.

Desirable Knowledge and Experience:

  • Proven experience in asset reliability engineering within mining/mineral processing, or heavy industry operations.
  • Strong technical knowledge of site infrastructure and asset management systems.
  • Strong knowledge of FMECA, Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and strong understanding of LEAN processes and Continuous Improvement.
  • Experience in asset data management system.
  • Advanced computer and database skills.
  • Strong commitment to safe working practices.
