Our client is a major energy and resources organisation undertaking a significant portfolio of technology and business transformation initiatives. As part of this program, they are seeking an experienced Release Manager to take responsibility for the planning, coordination and delivery of complex releases across multiple projects and environments.

This is a key role within the Customer Technology portfolio, working across project teams, technical teams, operational stakeholders and vendors to ensure releases are effectively planned, governed and delivered.

This is a key role within the Customer Technology portfolio, working across project teams, technical teams, operational stakeholders and vendors to ensure releases are effectively planned, governed and delivered.

The Role

As Release Manager, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end release lifecycle across a complex portfolio of concurrent projects.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Lead the scheduling, coordination and management of releases across multiple projects and workstreams.
• Facilitate release planning, forward scheduling, governance and cutover activities.
• Develop deployment strategies, release plans, implementation run sheets and rollback plans.
• Coordinate complex SIT, UAT and Production releases across multiple projects and environments.
• Work closely with Project Managers, Delivery Managers, technical teams, vendors and business stakeholders to ensure release readiness.
• Identify and manage risks, issues, dependencies and decisions impacting releases.
• Represent the portfolio at Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings and relevant governance forums.
• Initiate and manage Change Requests, Work Orders and Tasks through ServiceNow.
• Facilitate environment readiness and obtain required business approvals prior to release.
• Maintain release and environment schedules and support configuration management activities.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will be an experienced Release Manager or Deployment Manager with a strong background delivering complex ICT releases across large programs of work.

You will bring:

• 6+ years' experience leading deployment/release activities across large and complex ICT projects.
• Demonstrated experience managing multiple concurrent projects, environments and delivery teams.
• Strong experience using Microsoft Project to manage complex program schedules and dependencies.
• Proven ability to coordinate technical and non-technical teams, including vendor resources.
• Strong understanding of release planning, deployment, cutover, rollback and environment management.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, including experience working with senior management.
• Experience working within Agile/Scrum environments will be highly regarded, as will experience within large-scale customer-facing technology environments.
