Job summary

Allianz Australia in Sydney is seeking a Reinsurance Claims Technician to support the management of reinsurance claims, notifications, updates and recoveries. The role focuses on maximizing recoveries and strengthening relationships with reinsurers and brokers.

The successful candidate will have experience in claims or reinsurance, strong analytical skills, and excellent communication to coordinate with internal and external stakeholders. Hybrid work arrangements are available.

• Support reporting, data accuracy, and compliance with reinsurance and regulatory requirements.
• Contribute to process improvements and operational initiatives that enhance claims and recovery outcomes.

About The Role

Play a key role in managing Allianz’s reinsurance claims portfolio by partnering with reinsurers and brokers, providing timely loss notifications, claims updates, and recoveries management. This role helps maximise reinsurance recoveries, strengthen stakeholder relationships, and support positive claims outcomes for the business and customers.

Key Accountabilities

• Manage and coordinate reinsurance claims notifications, updates, recoveries, and settlements with reinsurers and brokers.
• Monitor reinsurance claims portfolios to maximise recoveries and ensure timely claim resolution.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with reinsurers, brokers, claims teams, and internal stakeholders.
• Analyse reinsurance contract coverage and provide guidance on claim recoverability and obligations.
• Support reporting, data accuracy, and compliance with reinsurance and regulatory requirements.
• Contribute to process improvements and operational initiatives that enhance claims and recovery outcomes.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Experience in claims, reinsurance, insurance, finance, or a related industry environment.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret contracts, assess claim recoverability, and manage complex information.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to build relationships across internal and external partners.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with confidence engaging with reinsurers, brokers, and business stakeholders.
• High attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience working with claims, insurance, or financial systems.
