Job summary

The City of Moreton Bay is seeking an Investigations Officer to manage regulatory matters such as dog attacks, compliant enforcement, and public land offences from Caboolture. You will investigate, gather evidence, interpret laws and advise on appropriate regulatory actions, including court appearances when needed.

You will engage with the community, educate residents, and pursue enforcement where necessary, while maintaining high standards of fairness and procedure.

Qualifications

• Experience in investigations, compliance, enforcement or a comparable regulatory environment.
• Strong investigative, analytical and evidence assessment skills.
• Ability to interpret and practically apply legislation.
• Strong community engagement and communication skills.
• Understanding of natural justice and procedural fairness.
• Strong written skills, including preparation of investigation reports and legal documentation.
• Effective time management and decision making skills.

Responsibilities

• Undertake investigations, gather and assess evidence and determine appropriate regulatory responses.
• Engage with the community, provide education and advice and encourage voluntary compliance.
• Prepare high quality reports and briefs of evidence and represent Council in court or tribunals as required.
