Job summary

City of Moreton Bay is seeking an Investigations Officer to manage regulatory matters such as dog attacks, compliant enforcement and protection of public land. You will undertake investigations, gather evidence, interpret legislation, engage with the community, and prepare reports for court; a current C Class licence is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in investigations, compliance, enforcement or regulatory environment.
• Strong investigative, analytical and evidence assessment skills.
• Ability to interpret and practically apply legislation.
• Strong community engagement and communication skills.
• Understanding of natural justice and procedural fairness.
• Strong written skills, including investigation reports and legal documentation.
• Effective time management and decision making skills.
• Current C Class driver's licence.

Responsibilities

• Undertake investigations, gather and assess evidence, interpret and apply legislation.
• Determine appropriate regulatory responses and engage with the community.
• Provide education and advice and encourage voluntary compliance where possible.
• Prepare high-quality reports and briefs of evidence; represent Council in court as required.
