Join to apply for the Regulatory Advisor, Rapid Regulatory Response Unit role at AHPRA (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency)
Do you value interesting and challenging work with a focus on public safety? Would you like to work in a flexible hybrid working model, in an organisation with a commitment to staff development? Becoming a Regulatory Advisor at Ahpra could be your next opportunity!
The Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra) works in partnership with 15 National Boards to implement the national regulatory scheme for health professionals. The purpose of health practitioner regulation is to protect the public by ensuring that only health practitioners who have the skills, qualifications and knowledge to provide safe care are registered.
Ahpra is committed to providing a culturally safe work environment that reflects the diversity of the communities in which we operate and serve.
Ahpra’s Rapid Regulatory Response Unit (RRRU) is a newly established team working to bridge the gap between regulatory intelligence and response. The team focuses on gathering targeted information about emerging concerns to determine whether regulatory action is required. Where the concerns relate to individual practitioners, the RRRU works to identify the right practitioner and supporting evidence to inform our standard notifications (complaints) processes.
We’re seeking an experienced full time Regulatory Advisor to contribute to the day‑to‑day case management and assessment activities of this fast‑paced and high‑impact function. This is a unique opportunity to work in a new and growing area of regulatory practice and play a direct role in shaping Ahpra’s response to emerging public safety risks.
You’re a confident regulatory or complaints‑handling professional with strong judgement and experience navigating complex issues. You are comfortable applying legislation, making sound decisions under pressure and producing high‑quality reports. You value collaboration, communicate clearly and have a proactive and curious approach to problem‑solving.
Offers of employment are subject to successful background (pre‑employment screening) and Criminal History checks.
Ahpra is an equal opportunity employer committed to providing a working environment that embraces and values diversity and inclusion. We strongly encourage people of all abilities to apply, particularly people of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander heritage, and those who may experience diversity or disability related barriers in securing employment. If you have any support or access requirements, we encourage you to advise us at time of application.
With respect, no agencies please.
