Job summary

NSW Health at Manning Hospital, Taree, seeks a Registered Nurse – Theatre to deliver evidence-based perioperative care across the operating theatre, spanning instrument/circulating roles in multiple surgical specialties. The role includes preparation of a safe, sterile theatre, assisting surgeons and the perioperative team, and monitoring patients throughout the perioperative period.

About the Opportunity

An exciting opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse - Theatre to join our dedicated team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced theatre nurse or a nurse looking to further develop their skills within a supportive and dynamic environment. Our theatre team works across a range of surgical specialties and is committed to delivering safe, high-quality care throughout the perioperative journey. You'll be part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team where teamwork, respect and continuous learning are highly valued. You will receive a comprehensive orientation program, supernumerary shifts and ongoing support from experienced Nurse Unit Managers, Clinical Nurse Educators and senior perioperative nurses.

What You Will Be Doing

As a Registered Nurse – Theatre, you will provide evidence-based perioperative nursing care across the operating theatre environment.

Your responsibilities may include:

• Working in Instrument/Circulating roles across a variety of surgical specialties.
• Pre‑paring and maintaining a safe and sterile operating theatre environment.
• Assisting surgeons, anaesthetists and the wider perioperative team during procedures.
• Monitoring patients throughout the perioperative phase and responding appropriately to changes in condition.
• Ensuring accurate clinical documentation and adherence to infection prevention and control standards.
• Participating in quality improvement activities and ongoing professional development.
• Supporting and mentoring junior staff and students where appropriate.
