Job summary

Hervey Bay Surgical Hospital in Hervey Bay, QLD, seeks a Registered Nurse to join the 8-bed surgical ward on a permanent part-time basis, covering day, evening and night shifts across 7 days.

You will assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care to deliver safe, patient-centred services; vaccination requirements; infection control; and maintain high standards of confidentiality and professional conduct.

Qualifications

• Current registration with AHPRA with no restrictions.
• Vaccination against Hepatitis B, MMR, Pertussis and Varicella (evidence required).
• COVID-19 vaccination not required.
• Previous surgical experience will be highly regarded.
• Time management skills and strong written and verbal communication.
• Full rights to work in Australia.
• Sponsorship is not available.
• Current CPR certificate.

Hervey Bay Surgical Hospital is a smallPrivate Hospital specializing in elective surgeryin orthopaedic,general, urology and ophthalmic surgery, and endoscopy procedures.We have twooperatingtheatres and an endoscopic procedure room, day surgery PCAU unit, along with an 8 bed in-patient surgical ward opened 5-7 days a week.

About the role

As the Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for providing safe, compassionate patient centred care through the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care.

We require Registered nurses for day, evening and night duty shifts over 7 days on our 8 bed surgical ward.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Carry out comprehensive and accurate nursing assessments of patients.
• Within scope of practice, implements planned evidence-based nursing interventions.
• Act as a patient advocate ensuring patients are informed and consent is gained prior to procedures.
• Contribute to the maintenance of an environment which promotes safety, security and personal integrity of individual patients and groups.
• Participates in pre-admission clinics
• Maintain and adhere to Infection Control policies and practices.
• Participate in performance review and activities.
• Complies with organisational policies, procedures, work instructions and guidelines.
• Ensure confidentiality of corporate and patient information.
• Participate in Quality Assurance activities with support provided.
