Job summary

Hervey Bay Surgical Hospital in Hervey Bay, QLD, seeks a Registered Nurse to join the 8-bed surgical ward on a permanent part-time basis, covering day, evening and night shifts across 7 days.

You will assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care to deliver safe, patient-centred services; vaccination requirements; infection control; and maintain high standards of confidentiality and professional conduct.

Qualifications

• Current registration with AHPRA with no restrictions.
• Vaccination against Hepatitis B, MMR, Pertussis and Varicella (evidence required).
• COVID-19 vaccination not required.
• Previous surgical experience will be highly regarded.
• Time management skills and strong written and verbal communication.
• Full rights to work in Australia.
• Sponsorship is not available.
• Current CPR certificate.

Responsibilities

• Carry out comprehensive and accurate nursing assessments of patients.
• Within scope of practice, implement evidence-based nursing interventions.
• Advocate for patients ensuring informed consent prior to procedures.
• Maintain a safe, secure environment and protect patient privacy.
• Participate in pre-admission clinics.
• Adhere to Infection Control policies and practices.
• Contribute to performance review and quality assurance activities.
• Comply with organisational policies and guidelines.
