Job summary

NBMLHD’s Nepean Hospital is offering a two-year program allowing Registered Nurses to transition into Midwifery while completing a Graduate Diploma of Midwifery. The role is based at Nepean Hospital with part‑time or full‑time options, designed to support women, babies and families through maternity services.

Applicants must hold current RN registration and be eligible for the graduate pathway. The program provides hands-on experience, mentorship and opportunities to develop in a teaching

Qualifications

• Current registration to practice as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with AHPRA.
• Experience as a Registered Nurse, including completion of a new graduate year or equivalent.
• Ability to provide person-centred, family-inclusive and culturally sensitive nursing care.
• Ability to organise and prioritise work.
• Effective written and verbal communication.

What you will bring to the role

• Current registration to practice as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA)
• Demonstrated experience and clinical skill as a Registered Nurse (including completion of a new graduate year or equivalent experience working as a registered Nurse).
• Demonstrated capacity to provide effective Nursing care that is person centred, family inclusive and culturally sensitive to people accessing health services.
• Demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise work
• Demonstrated effective communications written and verbal skills
• Demonstrated commitment to professional development
• Ability to work effectively within a multi‑disciplinary team
