Job summary

Southern NSW Local Health District in Broken Hill is seeking a Palliative Care Registered Nurse to join the Specialist Community Palliative Care Team, delivering patient-centred palliative care for people with advanced life-limiting illnesses, their families and carers.

You will provide a mix of direct, shared and consultative care, working within a supportive team committed to excellent patient experience and community health in a rural setting.

Responsibilities

• The Palliative Care Registered Nurse will work as a member of the Specialist Community Palliative Care Team providing patient centred palliative care for people with advanced life limiting illnesses, their families and carer.
• The role will provide a combination of direct/shared/consultative care

Job description

This position qualifies for an annual Recruitment Incentive Package up to the value of $10,000 (conditions apply and may be pro-rata'd to your contracted or ordinary working hours, these payments are paid on a fortnightly basis) under the NSW Health Rural Health Workforce Incentive Scheme. This scheme recognises the role key health workers play in enabling the delivery of rural and remote health services, and aims to provide incentives over and above award entitlements, to attract and retain staff in these areas.
