What You Will Be Doing

As a Registered Nurse within the Medical Unit, you will provide safe, evidence-based and person-centred nursing care to patients with a wide range of medical conditions.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating individualised nursing care.
• Caring for patients across acute medical, long-stay and palliative care settings.
• Recognising and responding appropriately to deteriorating patients in accordance with NSW Health policies and escalation pathways.
• Working collaboratively with medical officers, allied health professionals and the wider multidisciplinary team to achieve the best patient outcomes.
• Administering medications and treatments while maintaining accurate clinical documentation.
• Supporting patients and their families through all stages of their healthcare journey.
• Contributing to a positive team culture and participating in quality improvement initiatives.

This role operates on a rotating roster including late and night shifts.

About you

We're looking for a compassionate and adaptable Registered Nurse who enjoys working within a collaborative team and is committed to delivering outstanding patient care. Our ideal candidate will demonstrate:

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Sound clinical assessment skills and the ability to recognise and respond to deteriorating patients.

Additional Information

• Based on a minimum 18-month commitment to the position or the agreed duration of your contract.
• All payments to part-time and contract employees will be made on a pro-rata basis in accordance with the terms of your contract, including any approved extensions.
• If your contract ends before the agreed completion date, you may be required to repay a portion of the incentive.
