Job summary

Cultura seeks a Registered Nurse to join our Geelong team on a part-time night-shift basis. The successful candidate will contribute to personal care, wound care, pain management and end-of-life support, while supervising Enrolled Nurses and carers and liaising with families and other health professionals.

you must hold current RN registration in Australia and a Bachelor of Nursing; IPC qualification is highly desirable.

Qualifications

• Current registration with the Nurses Board of Australia via the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency as a Registered Nurse.
• Bachelor of Nursing qualification (or equivalent).
• Infection Prevention Control Lead (IPC) qualification (highly desirable).

Responsibilities

• Liaise with care staff, medical, allied health, hospital and other specialist health practitioners to ensure Cultura residents receive high level clinical care.
• Complete individualised assessments for all new residents, including respite residents, ensure they are completed according to written guidelines/checklists and meet current guidelines in conjunction with authorised representatives.
• Review individualised care plans for residents and their representatives, updating these according to written guidelines/checklists.
• Undertake clinical care for residents, including complex wound care, pain management, behaviour management, end-of-life care and other clinical procedures.
• Ensure medication management, including pharmacy liaison, drug checking, dangerous drugs storage and recording, medication administration, and reporting any adverse drug reactions, are completed.
• Provide regular handovers to all clinical staff which convey essential information verbally and electronically, are concise and comprehensive, and share information in a professional manner on a need-to-know basis, always respecting resident confidentiality.

The Registered Nurse undertakes duties as allocated by the Nurse Unit Manager, including responsibility for personal care and hygiene of residents, supervision of Enrolled Nurses/personal carers, and liaison with other staff and, as appropriate, family members and other health professionals, to ensure the individual needs of residents are met and all essential care and clinical procedures are completed.

This position will be contracted on a Part Time basis & Night shift only.Minimum requirement: Registered Nurse Grade 2, Year 2 and above.
