Job summary

Ozcare Port Douglas Aged Care Facility in Rockhampton region is seeking a Registered Nurse for a casual role supporting our clients in the community. You will provide high-quality, evidence-based care across all age groups, including complex wound care, palliative care, medication administration and chronic disease management.

Key duties include initial assessment, care planning, liaising with families and multidisciplinary teams, documenting progress and contributing to continuous quality

Qualifications

• Current registration with AHPRA and a valid nursing practising certificate.
• CPR certification is current and up to date.
• National Police Check completed within the last 3 years.
• Current Queensland driver’s licence.
• Vaccination against MMR, Varicella and Pertussis as required.

Responsibilities

• Initial assessment of client needs and development of ongoing care plans.
• Provide holistic, client-centred care in collaboration with families and the multidisciplinary team.
• Monitor, document and evaluate client progress to professional standards.
• Administer and review medications and clinical interventions.
• Liaise with internal/external stakeholders and refer as needed to support outcomes.
• Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to quality improvement.

We have a casual opportunity available for Registered Nurses supporting our clients within the Rockhampton locale and surrounding suburbs.

Your Role

As a Registered Nurse you’ll be looking after the most important people in our organisation – our clients. You will provide high-quality, evidence-based care across all age groups within the community, supporting a variety of clinical needs including complex wound care, palliative care, medication administration and chronic disease management.

• Initial assessment of client needs and implementation of ongoing care, including coordination, case management and care planning
• Delivering holistic, client-centred care in consultation with clients, families and the multidisciplinary team
• Monitoring, evaluating and documenting client progress in line with professional and legal standards
• Administering and reviewing medications, treatments and clinical interventions
• Liaising with internal and external stakeholders and making referrals as required to support client outcomes
• Maintaining accurate, timely documentation and contributing to continuous quality improvement initiatives

Role Requirements

• Candidates with the availability to work Friday, Saturday, Sunday (7:30am - 4:00pm) will be held in high regard.
• Proof of immunity, or willingness to become vaccinated against, Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR), Varicella (Chicken Pox) and Pertussis (Whooping Cough)
• Current National Police Check (with validity in the past 3 years)
• Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
• Current Queensland driver’s licence
• Current CPR Certificate
• Good computer and mobile device skills
