Job summary

NSW Health at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to provide post-surgical patient care and education in both inpatient and outpatient settings. You will coordinate and re-prioritise nursing tasks to achieve optimal outcomes while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Care for the post-surgical patient and educate patients on drains and catheters in inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Coordinate and re-prioritise patient care for better outcomes throughout shifts in a fast-paced nursing team.
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care in collaboration with patients and the multidisciplinary team.

About the Role

In this role the daily work will include care of the post-surgical patient, education provision to patients on how to manage their drains and catheters in both the inpatient and outpatient environment, providing care and compassion to those who have experienced major life changes through the surgeries performed, coordinating and re-prioritising patient care for better outcomes multiple times throughout a shift and working in a fast-paced nursing team.

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the provision of patient centred; evidence informed nursing care that promotes identified health outcomes. The Registered Nurse will assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care in collaboration with individuals and the multidisciplinary healthcare team.
