Job summary

Serco is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Oakey Health Centre on a permanent part-time basis (0.6 FTE / 22.5 hours per week). You’ll deliver high-quality primary care to Defence members in a collaborative, civilian environment.

The role requires an unrestricted AHPRA RN registration, CPR, and a minimum of one year of RN experience across acute, primary care, or military settings, with a Wednesday–Friday roster and 7:00 am–4:30 pm shifts.

Qualifications

  • Unrestricted AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
  • Minimum one year of RN experience in acute care, primary healthcare or military settings.
  • Current CPR certification (HLTAID009).
  • Australian Citizenship required for Baseline Security Clearance.
  • Commitment to CPD and ethical, patient-centred care.
  • Availability for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday roster.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality primary healthcare, including health assessments and vaccinations.
  • Monitor patients in a low-dependency ward setting and provide health promotion.
  • Collaborate with GPs, physiotherapists, mental health clinicians and dental staff.
  • Support Defence members with injury recovery, chronic condition management, and prevention.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and contribute to quality improvement.

We’re seeking a Registered Nurse to join our multidisciplinary team at Oakey Health Centre on a permanent part-time basis (0.6 FTE / 22.5 hours per week), delivering high-quality care to Defence members in a supportive and collaborative environment.

This position requires availability to work Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, with shifts rostered within the Health Centre's operating hours of 7:00 am to 4:30 pm.

About the Health Centre

Oakey Health Centre is located at the Army Aviation Centre (AAC), just 3 km outside Oakey, and supports approximately 500 Defence personnel from an adult population. The Health Centre provides a range of primary healthcare services and operates Monday to Friday from 7:00 am to 4:30 pm.

What you’ll do
  • Deliver high-quality primary healthcare, including health assessments, vaccinations, and health promotion activities
  • Monitor and manage patients in a low-dependency ward setting as required
  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, including general practitioners, physiotherapists, mental health clinicians, and dental professionals

  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and contribute to quality improvement initiatives
What you bring
  • Unrestricted AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
  • Minimum one year of Registered Nurse experience in acute care, primary healthcare, or a military setting
  • Current CPR certification (HLTAID009)
  • Australian Citizenship (required to obtain and maintain a Baseline Security Clearance)
  • Commitment to CPD and ethical, patient-centred care
  • Availability to work the required roster of Wednesday, Thursday and Friday
