Job summary

HammondCare Volunteers in Wahroonga, NSW, is seeking experienced Registered Nurses for a 12-month fixed-term, part-time role (4 days per week) in the Palliative Care unit at Neringah Hospital. You will provide expert nursing care and guidance to patients with complex needs within a supportive multidisciplinary team.

The successful applicant will hold AHPRA registration, have hospital experience and strong communication, with commitment to ongoing development.

Qualifications

• Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
• At least two years of post-graduate experience in a hospital setting.
• Experience in palliative care in inpatient or community settings preferred.
• Evidence of integrating theory with clinical skills and analysing daily practice.
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development.
• Computer literacy with email and an electronic patient record system.

Job description

These 12-month fixed-term part-time (4 days/week) roles are for experienced and skilled Registered Nurses. Based at Neringah Hospital in Wahroonga you will be a part of a highly dedicated team that provides the best nursing care and advice to patients with palliative care needs.

About you

• Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency
• At least two years of post-graduate experience in a hospital setting is essential
• Experience working in the specialty area of Palliative Care in an inpatient setting or community is desirable
• Evidence of integration of theoretical knowledge and clinical skills, critical thinking, and analysis in your daily practice as a registered nurse
• Able to work within a multidisciplinary team
• Effective written and oral communication skills
• Commitment to ongoing professional development
• Computer literacy with email and an electronic patient record system
• Effective time management skills and ability to prioritise competing workloads within a complex environment
